Parenting is joyful and challenging - all at the same time. If your teenagers don’t like you telling them what to do, relax; they’re normal. It’s not peculiar to teenagers; it starts much earlier. A psychologist shared about a mother whose 4 year old was demanding her own way. The mother said, “I’m your boss, to guide you and that’s what I am doing.” The little girl replied, “How long does it have to be that way?” Already at a young age there was a yearning for the day of independence. That’s a God-given instinct.

Secondary Segments

From the Head of Secondary

Last year I wrote about my apple trees, and the fruit on the branches being lovingly consumed by the local parrot population. This year, after careful netting, I have been eating the apples – and it’s incredibly satisfying to pick a piece of fruit that has grown in your own garden. I had to make some changes, and I could see the benefit of this from one year to the next. Now that I know the netting works, I’ve identified a few other improvements I can make – especially keeping in mind that water is precious and needs to be used carefully.

‘Youth Off the Streets’ Winter Sleepout

Year 9 Camp

Year 9 left School on what looked to be a cloudy start to their School Camp. In under an hour we arrived at Camp Somerset where we spent the next three days outdoors, experiencing a lot of different activities. On the first day we had lunch together and then split off into our four groups.

From the P&F Association

From the P&F President

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to the running of the Primary Disco last week! It was a fantastic night which the students from both Campuses enjoyed, and it would not have been possible without the help of so many P&F volunteers.

Video games that imitate gambling behaviours

Within some video games and apps (including some children’s video games and apps) there may be content that simulates or imitates gambling. They are classified as games and not as gambling because players are not playing for real money (although in some games, money can be spent through microtransactions).
