As a School Community we are now in a very different situation compared to a fortnight ago, let alone a month ago. Transmission of Covid-19 has remained extremely low or zero, especially in our area of Western Sydney. Accordingly, I am decreasing the previous benchmark, applicable to both students and staff, which was “if unwell do not come to School and get tested for Covid-19”. The fact is, we have just entered the season of common colds and other related illness, which are not the Covid-19 virus.

Principal's Awards

Congratulations to the following students for receiving Principal's Awards at recent Assemblies:

Secondary

Liam Barron  12D

Thank you from St Peters Anglican College

Dear Paul,

Thank you for the kind donation after our school experienced severe bushfires. Our students and staff loved the ice creams.

I have just moved into a temp office after desk surfing from the start of the year. It has been hard for staff to be fully productive. The school is functioning quite well although we have an endless stream of tradesman here each day.

Last week we reminded families about our School Uniform and Presentation Policy and the need for students to be adhering to this. With our annual photo days coming up in Week 9, it is important that students know what they are required to be wearing. Full winter School Uniform is required across the School including blazers, ties for boys, and scarves for girls in the Secondary section. As this is a formal occasion, girls should wear plain navy tights/stockings as per this Policy.

Boys are reminded that they need to be clean shaven at all times as well as for Photo Day.

OUR NEW NORMAL - TERM 2

We are powering along after the resumption of a few weeks of face-to-face learning with lunch time groups and most before and after school activities restarting. The sounds of singing, laughing, recorders, chatter, and even ukuleles are filling our learning spaces once again.

Oakhurst K-2 Mini-Athletics

On Thursday 11 June, K-2 students and teachers enjoyed their K-2 Mini-Athletics afternoon. Students participated in a range of events that included beanbags, balls, targets, floppy discus mats, golfballs and spoons, hoops and foam turbo javelins.

YEAR 7 2021 INFORMATION EVENING

We would normally host our Year 7 Information Evening this week. As with so many things in this current season, we will not be able to do so, this year. However, on Wednesday morning our current Year 6 students from Oakhurst and Marsden Park will be joining us for a session with various Secondary staff, the School Captains and several current Year 7 students to unpick what happens in the Secondary Section of the School.

Sports Reports

Primary Sports Report

While it has been fantastic to see some restrictions being lifted, the following events have been cancelled by CSSA in August:

  • CSSA Primary State Netball GD
  • CSSA Primary Boys Football GD Finals
  • CSSA Primary State Athletics

Secondary Sports Report

UNIFORM ISSUES: SPORTS UNIFORM

  1. Nike ‘Air Force 1’ or similar shoes are casual sneakers. These are not joggers/x-trainers/runners. Any student wearing the wrong shoes will be issued with a Uniform demerit.
  2. No student will be allowed to wear any CSSA, CIS or AICES (higher representative) jackets/jumpers and required to wear their RJAS Sport Jackets on Tuesdays. Students have a 12-month provision to wear the higher representative jackets and due to no students filling this requirement all students are to wear the RJAS Sports Jacket.
