Tonight, we will welcome Mr Darren Cox, inaugural Principal of Marsden Park Anglican College (2024), to our Community Connect Evening at Marsden Park.

For all of our Marsden Park Campus families, here is your opportunity to meet Mr Cox and hear of the plans for the Campus moving forward. He will share with the Marsden Park community the new uniform and School logo, and provide updates on the facilities for 2024, so this is not a night to miss. I would like to thank all those who have taken time to register and also submit some questions that you have had about the transition to MPAC. If you haven’t registered for this evening, that’s okay, come along anyway and enjoy the company of other families from the Campus.

This week our Year 12 students commence their Trial HSC Examination period. Students will be sitting up to eight examinations over the course of eight school days. This is a very challenging time for our students as they attempt to demonstrate their understanding of the whole of the HSC Course. As part of our Building Learning Power approach this is what we describe as performance mode and just like an athlete, dancer or musician we need to remain at the height of peak performance. It is hard not to draw parallels to the amazing performance of our Australian Women’s Football team, the Matildas. These amazing women have dug deep to overcome adversity and to compete and perform at the highest level. So what can we learn from them?

Last week's HSC Showcase was an amazing night with the talents and abilities of our Year 12 students on display. Well done to the students who presented a variety of Major Works across a range of HSC subjects. Thank you to the subject teachers who have provided direction and encouragement throughout the year. Thank you to everyone who attended the evening, your support and encouragement for our students is highly valued. Finally, thank you to the Staff, Tech Team and Service Learning Team who made the night run so well.

40 Hour Famine Challenge - Team Walk

On Friday 1 September students in Years 6-12 are invited to join in the World Vision 40 Hour Famine Challenge. The main goal of the event is for students to participate in a walking activity to raise funds to support World Vision’s program to eliminate Child Hunger in our world. Students will form teams of 4-5 students and try to complete as many kilometres during the afternoon as a team, walking around a track set out in the school grounds. Teams will have at least two members walking at any one time. There will be drinks stops and short activities during the afternoon.

Marsden Park Campus Matters

From the Head of Primary - Marsden Park

It has been another busy fortnight at Marsden Park. I wanted to highlight the Year 6 Fun Day that was run by students at the School, ably assisted by their teachers. All students’ Pre-K to Year 5 were asked to bring in a small amount of money that contributed towards raising funds for the School, primarily for Compassion sponsorship. There was a wide range of activities put on by the Year 6’s who again showed that they are a credit to this School. The photos below give an idea of the great time that was had by all.

Year 6 Fun Day

Friday 11 August was a fun filled day like no other with lots of excitement! In the lead up to the day, Year 6 enjoyed preparing activities and designing posters for our Fun Day.

da Vinci Decathlon!

On Thursday 27 July, eight students from Year 6 at RJ Marsden Park travelled to Knox Grammar School to participate in the da Vinci Decathlon.

This Term students have the opportunity to experience recreational activities and leisure activities, to develop new skills and lifelong physical activity options. Students are given multiple sessions to engage in roller skating, rock climbing, Flip Out, ninja courses, indoor sporting activities, tennis, boxercise and outdoor sporting activities. We look forward to hearing about the joy students experience as they continue to try new activities, learn new skills and develop confidence within themselves.

The students who attended this event had a wonderful day. It was fantastic to see so many RJ students make it through to the CSSA State Athletics Carnival. Overall, RJ had 26 students qualify for the next level of competition with all four of our relay teams making it through.
