CHILD SAFE STANDARD 5 - People Working with Children are Suitable and Supported

In our ongoing series on the Child Safe Standards we have looked at how schools are to operate when they are working with children. Standard 5 has as its aim that “Organisations attract, recruit, supervise and support staff to keep children safe.” This makes Standard 5 of critical importance to the effective functioning of child safe schools. Staff recruitment is a precursor to many of the other standards as effective practice in this area can prevent organisations from needing to tackle bigger issues as problematic employees aren’t accepted into workplaces.

Hello, Junior School families – we have almost made it to the end of Term 1! It has been an action packed, event filled Term and the staff and students are all looking forward to some much needed rest during the upcoming break. Thank you to all who were able to get along to one or more of our special events this Term. We are already planning for Term 2!

Senior School Segments

Mr Brad Maxwell - Head of Senior School

From the Head of Senior School

As Term 1 draws to a close I would like to share a few reminders regarding upcoming events and also highlight the College's expectations regarding Uniform as we move into Term 2, and restate our expectations regarding students who take videos and photos of each other, and also their use of social media.

Fine Arts

Master of Art Club

Our ‘Master of Art’ Club began its first foray as practising artists by entering the prestigious ‘Young Archie’ competition, also known as the Archibald Portrait competition for students. This was a first for RJ and the quality of the artworks we are submitting from Year 7 to Year 12 students is impressive!
