From the Principal
At RJ, our Christian faith is the foundation of everything we do, shaping a nurturing and values-driven environment for our students and families.
Through a Christ-centred education, we strive to instil strong moral character, resilience and a deep sense of purpose in our students. This faith-based approach, fosters a supportive community where families feel a sense of belonging, partnership and shared values. More importantly, our students benefit from a holistic education that emphasises not only academic excellence but also spiritual growth and servant-hearted leadership. By integrating faith into learning and daily life, we empower students to make a positive impact in their communities and confidently live out their beliefs.
As the weeks of Term 1 quickly slip away, the energy and activity at RJ remain in full swing. Our students have been deeply engaged in college life, with recent highlights including NAPLAN testing and House meetings, both of which are now successfully completed. Looking ahead, we have an exciting lineup of events to finish the term on a high note.
In the coming weeks, we will be hosting our Annual Cross Country events for both Junior and Senior Schools, bringing together students for a day of fun, fitness and house spirit. Our Senior House Chapels provide a meaningful time for reflection and community, while the much-anticipated Senior School musical production of Newsies is sure to be a highlight, showcasing the incredible talents of our senior students. Don’t forget to buy your tickets. Seats for all nights are selling fast – with limited capacity left for Friday night.
Additionally, we look forward to welcoming grandparents to the Stage 2 Grandparents Day coming up in Week 10 and celebrating our Jump Off Day while concluding the term with our special Easter events.
A special thank you to Mrs Scrimshaw, Mrs Shannon-Duhigg and Mr Maxwell for their tireless efforts in organising NAPLAN testing across the College last week. Managing such a large-scale assessment, particularly with the added complexity of technology, is no small feat. Their persistence and problem-solving ensured that students were able to approach their tests with confidence and ease.
It was also wonderful to meet with our Year Group Ambassadors recently, who manage the Facebook pages for each year level. Their insights into communication and parent engagement were invaluable and it is great to see these platforms continuing to provide a helpful and informative space for everyday updates and support for our RJ families.
With so much happening at RJ, we thank our students, families and staff for their ongoing commitment and enthusiasm. Here’s to a fantastic end to Term 1!
God Bless
Mr Alan Dawson | Principal
