What is your favourite food?
Depends on the season - currently, anything warm like butter chicken, pasta dishes or South African pancakes on a rainy day.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Reading novels, watching TV series and movies, visiting/exploring new places, baking, horse riding and painting.
When and why did you come to work at this School?
Term 3, 2021. In part to be closer to my extended family in Sydney, but also to continue my journey as a Kindergarten teacher, which I am really passionate about.
What do you think you will enjoy about your role in the School?
Helping students learn, grow and reach their potential. Working alongside the RJ staff, contributing to the RJ community and being able to work in a Christian-based environment.
Describe a wonderful experience you’ve had which you will never forget.
When I went on a hot air balloon trip with my mum in Stellenbosch, South Africa. It was such a serene, breathtaking experience! It made me think of Bette Midler's song, "From a Distance" and it will probably be one of the highlights of my life.
Why did you become a Christian?
I have always been a Christian as long as I can remember. I believe Christianity gives you a purpose, hope, strength and the knowledge that whatever lies ahead, God will be there, right by your side.
What is your favourite bible verse?
Hebrews 13:5: "I will never leave you nor forsake you."
What is something you want to achieve?
There are too many, I have a 'bucket' list! Academically, I would still like to study further and obtain my Masters degree.
If you could meet any person in the world at the moment who would it be and why?
With COVID, it is probably a long way off, but to be able to visit my mum and sister in South Africa. Virtual calls are just not the same.
