From the Principal

From the Principal

It’s been a busy end to our term. Despite the rain forcing us to postpone our Cross Country events last week, we’ve managed to complete a range of activities including our Jump Rope For Heart in Primary at Marsden Park with Oakhurst still to host their event this Thursday. Congratulations to all our Primary students across both Campuses for their great fundraising efforts of raising almost $20,000. A superb record!

“WHAT DO YOU WANT?”

This is a simple question that gets asked in various forms each day. Students come to see me, or parents ring, because there is a question that needs answering or a need to be met. How satisfied they are with my response depends on whether it gets to the heart of what they want or need.

CROSS COUNTRY EVENTS

Due to the recent rain, it was decided to postpone both the Years 3-12 and K-2 Cross Country events into next term. The Years 3-12 event is now scheduled for Wednesday 18 May. More details to follow for K-2.

From the Head of Primary - Marsden Park

It has been another busy fortnight with the Public Speaking Contest Finals, Parent/Teacher Interviews and a host of other events. Of mention was the Swim Fun Day attended by Years 1 & 2 on Wednesday 23 March.

Secondary Segments

Mr Brad Maxwell - Head of Senior School

From the Acting Head of Secondary

Firstly, thank you to all the Secondary students and Staff who made Mr Dawson’s Commissioning Service a great success. The focus and generosity displayed by the students during the service reflected a genuine and pleasing level of respect for the event. It was great to see students wearing the full school Uniform as well. Well done.

Mr Stewart Rowe, Director of Christian Ministry/Service Learning (7-12)

Run4Bibles

As you are aware the School Cross Country/Run4Bibles has been postponed until next term, Wednesday 18 May.

For those parents who ordered via Trybooking for the BBQ, your orders will carry over to the new date. The Try Booking link for the BBQ will open again two weeks before the Carnival.

JUMP OFF DAY

At our Marsden Park Campus, our students put on a tremendous skipping display for our parents who were able to attend. It was excellent to see the advancement in their skipping skills since the beginning of the term. Well done to all of the students who were awarded a certificate on the day. A big congratulations must go out to the students who beat the teacher team in the Miss-a-loop competition. They will definitely have to move on to a harder competition next year with Miss-no-loop.

Secondary Sports Report

The end of Term 1 is here. We are thankful for the many sporting events and trials that were on this term. From the Swimming Carnivals to sporting trials we have seen RJ students being given the opportunity to show their gift and talents in this area. I would like to thank the teachers who have given up time to facilitate these events and trials. I would like to thank the students who have shown courage in putting themselves forward and always giving their best. It would be great if this mindset continues into Term 2 with many more events to come.
